The Korea
Meteorological Administration has forecasted that the color of leaves
will begin to change 1 to 2 days earlier than the average date (data
collected from 1981 to 2014). It has been also predicted that the
colors will be more distinctive and fierce this year.
▲ 2015 Autumn Foliage Forecast at Major Mountains in KoreaThe first place to see the magnificent fall colors will be in the northeast, at Seoraksan National Park (NaeSeorak) around September 25, followed by the central region around October 14, and then Jirisan National Park (Sancheong) in the south central region October 7 to 19. The fall foliage will reach its peak when the yellow and red colors of the trees cover 80% of the mountain, which will be no later or sooner than the average. Normally, peak colors appear two weeks after the first fall foliage is observed. The best of the fall foliage is expected to occur in Odaesan National Park and Seoraksan National Park (NaeSeorak) on October 17-18. Also, Songnisan National Park (Chungcheongbuk-do) and Jungbu (central) Region will see their mountains flourish with color on October 28 while the colors of leaves in Jirisan Mountain and other mountains in the Nambu (southern region) will reach their golden time October 20 to November 11.
