In celebration of Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day), Korean Folk Village will be holding its annual Hangawi Festival from September 12 to September 29, 2015.

The festival features a wide range of events including traditional performances and folk games to treasure the seasonal customs.

In particular, a ritual called seongju-gosa will take place, in which newly harvested rice is put in seongjudanji (a bowl) to give thanks for the good harvest. Visitors can experience Korea’s farming customs through baking beans, using traditional farming tools, and giving out songpyeon (half-moon-shaped rice cake), in addition to many other hands-on activities.
