Make your own kimchi at UNESCO-listed Gimjang event

The tradition of Gimjang will be celebrated during the Seoul Kimchi Making & Sharing Festival from November 6 to 8, 2015.
The festival will take place at City Hall (Seoul Plaza), Gwanghwamun Square, Taepyeongno and Sejongdaero streets. Korea Tourism Organization is looking for international participants for this unique cultural festival.
Gimjang refers to the preparation of large quantities of kimchi to eat throughout winter, proudly being listed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity List as of 2013.
The festival will promote a sense of community through various programs which include making large quantities of kimchi, trying on traditional costumes, enjoying nongak (traditional Korean farmers’ music) and more!
The festival will run three rounds of the program, recruiting a total of 450 international participants through a first-come, first-served basis. Admission to the festival is free of charge. All who are interested can submit their application along with a signed agreement on collection and use of personal information to hallyu@knto.or.kr by November 3, 2015.
